Already in the 1st round a leading group formed with the expected names: Eli Iserbyt, Toon Aerts, Michael Vanthourenhout and Laurens Sweeck. Lars van der Haar had to deal with a dislocated shoulder, but solved that problem himself and actually drove on.
Sweeck initially made a good impression in the front, but the power efforts of the start of the match broke him sour in the second part of the match. Vanthourenhout had already been beaten back by a faltering acceleration device.
While the competitors had to release the role one by one – Toon Aerts also dropped out due to two flat tires – Eli Iserbyt found his way better and better. After his victory last week in Lokeren, he also soloed to the win on the Beringse mine slag heap.
Behind Iserbyt it was actually Lars van der Haar who drove to a nice second place after a great catch-up race. Daan Soete took the last podium place.
