the return of an independent bookstore to the city center

The city center has just gained a new sign. And not just any: Tome 5 is an independent bookstore, run by Thomas and Benjamin Hisler. The two brothers, who have made their place in Geric’s shopping mall with comics, are now betting on a general branch on the pedestrian plateau. A fairly exceptional path, which in any case goes against the grain. For the hyper-center, in search of a rebound, the signal is encouraging. “There is always a part of risk but we believe in it completely, otherwise we would not have done it”, notes Benjamin between two clients. “For the moment, we are satisfied, the launch is going well but I think that not everyone knows that we have opened yet”.

300 m2 street of Paris

The booksellers have set their sights on a room of 300 m2 rue de Paris, next to La Poste and just in front of the access to the Galerie des Capucins. A place that has become strategic again in recent months, and which should be even more so with the commissioning of the pedestrian bridge over the Moselle. “I think that will bring additional passage”, hopes the bookseller.

Opened recently, the bookstore aligns a host of references and yet, everything is not there as evidenced by the empty shelves. “We are awaiting the release of the latest novelties; by the end of the year, everything will be filled ”. Something like 35,000 references will then be available. The five salespeople recruited by the Hisler brothers are already ready to advise whoever wants to try this Tome 5.
