After Meeting Jokowi, Blitar Breeding Mothers Geruduk Suroto’s House

Blitar farmer mothers raid the house Suroto. They asked about President Jokowi’s promise to lower the price of corn in the range of Rp 4,500/kg.

One of the mother breeders from Talun Sub-district, Yesi said, she deliberately invited several farmer mothers to find out the results of Suroto’s meeting with President Jokowi. They also asked Suroto about the realization of the promise made by the president.

“He said the result of the meeting was that the price of corn was lowered. But to this day, the price of corn is still above Rp. 6,000 per kg. Even though the promise will be realized this week,” said Yesi to detikcom, Saturday (18/9/2021).

Yesi confessed, condition Blitar farmer can’t last much longer with corn prices like this. All of their assets have been mortgaged to get additional capital, mainly for food expenditure.

“When is the price of corn going down. We can’t wait long. Our current condition, if a sick person is already critical. Going out of business is not only threatened, but is in sight,” he added.

Farmer mothers hope that Suroto, who already has direct access to the country’s leaders, will contact Jakarta again. To ask when the promise of lower corn prices will be realized.

Responding to the arrival of these breeder mothers, Suroto was very confused. On the one hand, he himself was also eagerly waiting for the promise to be realized. But on the other hand, the honor of direct invitation from the President Jokowi, indirectly made him reluctant to collect the promise through the Presidential Palace staff who contacted him.

“I’m a small person, sis. It’s an honor to be invited by the president. Now, ladies and gentlemen have come here to ask for the president’s promise. I’m also confused about how to answer. I can only ask them to be patient … soon,” concluded Suroto.
