Bolivia will receive 661,700 AstraZeneca vaccines donated by Spain and France on Saturday

President Luis Arce reported through his Twitter that a batch of 661,700 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, donated by Spain and France, will arrive on Saturday on a Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) plane that will land at the Jorge Wilstermann airport in the city of Cochabamba. .

“Tomorrow 661,700 doses of AstraZeneca transported by BoA-Bolivia will arrive in Cochabamba,” he published.

The head of state explained that Spain donated 583,100 units, while France provided 78,600 doses.

The Deputy Minister of Promotion, Epidemiological Surveillance and Traditional Medicine, María Renee Castro, reported on Thursday that Bolivia has received 12,310,110 doses of vaccines so far, in addition to more than 1 million units of the Jhonson & Jhonson brand, which are from a single supply.

He explained that 51.7% of the immunizers were applied, so there are 5.9 million units left.. The amount available is still made up of 2.6 million first doses, he said.

Regarding the advance of mass vaccination, Castro mentioned that 58% application of the first doses was reached among the population of inoculation age. “And 42% with complete guidelines,” he said.

The state representative recalled that the Ministry of Health receives the information from the municipalities and presents them at the national level, with a data collection cut that takes place at 8:00 p.m. each day.
