FC Barcelona’s economic vice-president, Eduard Romeu, has promised startling revelations in an upcoming audit.
Speaking to Catalan radio, Romeu said “there are things found in the audit that are straight out of science fiction, that explain how to destroy a club in just a few years”.
The audit is expected to be unveiled on October 6.
Romeu is part of the administration of Joan Laporta which arrived after Josep Maria Bartomeu led the club into economic chaos.
Furthermore, Romeu accused La Liga of essentially trying to force Barcelona to sign the CVC investment deal by promising that they could keep Lionel Messi if they did.
He said Laporta had met Tebas and Tebas told them everything would be worked out if they signed the agreement with CVC. But he says La Liga did not send the documents to be signed quickly. According to Romeu, the documents finally arrived, but late at night. Then Tebas demanded a quick response, but Barcelona refused to sign, saying the terms were not acceptable.
“It was impossible to sign the deal with CVC, it’s important that members and fans know that. They said they would let us record Messi in exchange for our acceptance of the deal, ”he said.
