La Fura dels Baus turns the Huesca Art and Nature Center into an experimental music tavern

HUESCA, Sep 17 (EUROPA PRESS) –

La Fura dels Baus has immersed the public gathered outside the Huesca Art and Nature Center (CDAN) in the most hedonistic and profane universe of the German genius Johann Sebastian Bach. Thus, the Catalan company has turned the SoNna Huesca stage into a 19th century German tavern and the cantata 212 into an ode to beer.

Two centuries after Bach wrote the Cantata de los Campesinos, one of the few profane compositions of the Lutheran composer, inventor of counterpoint, La Fura dels Baus has taken it out of the box to incorporate electronic music, flamenco and a video creation projected in triplicate on the facade of the museum.

Among the audience has been the vice president of the Huesca Provincial Council, Elisa Sancho, and the deputy for Culture, Maribel de Pablo, as well as the regional deputy Fernando Sades.

The initial protagonism of Free Bach 212 has been completely assumed by the baroque quartet Divina Mysteria –violin, viola, violone and harpsichord–, which was immediately nuanced and spiced up with synthesizers and electronic music composed by one of the founders from La Fura dels Baus and alma mater of the show, Miki Espuma.

TRIPLE SCREEN

With his postmodern grandfather appearance, Espuma has been the center of all eyes and in charge of greeting the public and presenting the final encore. The voices of the cantata have been those of the mezzo-soprano Eulalia Fantova and the baritone Juan García Gomá.

Bach is historically for many experts the musician who allows more readings and adaptations of his work. A forerunner in many respects, La Fura del Baus and Miki Espuma have chosen their BMW 212 cantata to pass through their particular artistic sieve, but without adulterating it, since the rest of the creative languages that are incorporated run parallel and are only rarely mixed directly with the music of Bach.

The triple screen of the elongated facade of SoNna, a backdrop where the light and shadows of the singers are played and a group of humanoid mannequins summarize the entire scenic display.

The cantaora Mariola Membrives, the dancer Miguel Ángel Serrano and the violin of Pavel Amilcar have been some of the exquisite contributions of the show co-directed by Miki Espuma and David Cid, with the musical direction of Amilcar, Thor Jorgen -violone- and Miki Espuma himself .

The “Cantata de los campesinos” that Bach premiered in 1742 serves Espuma to organize an eighteenth-century party that, beyond inviting the composer -and the public- to have a few beers, delves into the Baroque with a synthesis of musical languages and scenic. Divina Mysteria has woven the cantata while hallucinogenic projections flooded the scene.

ROZALÉN IN THE CARTRIDGE OF FOUNTAINS

The singer from La Mancha, Rozalén, will take over from Amaral this Saturday to complete the double program of paid concerts at the Cartuja de las Fuentes in Sariñena, planned as the culmination of the second edition of SoNna Huesca.

The monumental complex, acquired by the Hueca Provincial Council in 2005 for its rehabilitation and enhancement, will be dressed as a concert hall to receive one of the main voices of the new author song in Spanish.

With four published works, Rozalén has captivated audiences and critics alike. To his credit, he has accumulated such important distinctions as three Gold Records, two Platinum Records, a Goya for ‘Best Original Song’ or two Latin Grammy nominations.

She is one of the most successful artists on stage, congregating, until the arrival of the pandemic, thousands of followers in each of her concerts. In addition, she is an important social activist, defending with her music the rights of minorities and disadvantaged communities. On stage, she is always accompanied by Beatriz Romero, a sign language interpreter.

TRAJECTORY

In October 2020, Rozalén released ‘El arbol y el bosque’, her fourth studio album from which songs such as ‘Este Tren’, ‘Y Busqué’ or ‘Aves Enjauladas’ are extracted; The latter is considered an anthem in times of pandemic. Rozalén goes straight to number 1 on the official Spanish sales list.

The song ‘Que no, que no’, included in the original soundtrack of ‘Rosa’s wedding’, is the winner as Best Song at the 2021 Goya Awards. In May of this year, the artist went on tour to present this work throughout Spain and abroad.

‘The tree and the forest’ is surely the most introspective work of the singer-songwriter, considered one of the main references in the genre of pop and author song. ‘Y Busqué’ is one of the central themes of the album; song that perfectly sums up the concept of the album.

The SoNna organization has set up a venue with all Covid guarantees with a capacity for 1,200 seated spectators. The initial capacity expected is one thousand people, but given the evolution of the pandemic, the DPH has received a special authorization from the Government of Aragon to increase the capacity by 200 seats -both for Amaral and Rozalén- which was put up for sale on last Wednesday, September 8. In just 17 minutes they were exhausted.
