Tennis – Eurosport secures broadcast rights to the Laver Cup

Cologne (SID) – Eurosport is expanding its tennis offer. The broadcaster, which broadcasts three of the four Grand Slam tournaments live and exclusively, also secured the rights to the Laver Cup, the team tournament initiated by Roger Federer for the best players in the world. The partnership begins with the fourth edition of the show competition, which takes place in Boston from September 24th to 26th, lasts until 2030 and includes all free TV, pay TV and digital rights.

“Europe is a force in men’s tennis – Team Europe has won all three Laver Cups so far – and it is also an important audience that we want to reach,” said Federer’s long-time manager Tony Godsick: “We are looking forward to it together with Eurosport to delight Laver Cup fans on all platforms this month at the Laver Cup in Boston in 2021 and then in London in 2022. “

US Open winner Daniil Medwedew (Russia), German Olympic champion Alexander Zverev (Hamburg) and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas will be at the start for Team Europe in Boston. The Canadians Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov as well as the Australian Nick Kyrgios also play in Team World.
