Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will install the new Barak MX anti-aircraft missile systems and the Iron Dome missile defense system on four Sa’ar 6 corvettes of the Israeli Navy.

It is noted that the Sa’ar 6 corvettes will receive a naval version of the Iron Dome missile defense system. It will be designed to intercept missiles. The complex includes a vertical launch facility for ten Tamir interceptor missiles.
The ships will also receive Barak MX anti-aircraft missile systems and Sea Breaker anti-ship missile. The systems will be used to protect Israel’s economic zone and strategic sites that face a variety of threats.
