The Mediator of the Republic of Niger, Me Ali Sirfi Maiga, chaired, yesterday morning in Niamey, the official launching ceremony of the institution’s complaints processing and monitoring platform. Indeed, it is for the sake of better handling of complaints from users of the public administration and the dematerialization of the processing and monitoring of these complaints with institutions that the mediator of the Republic of Niger has decided the establishment of such a platform. This is intended to be an essential tool that allows the Mediator of the Republic to be even closer to citizens and users.

During the launch, the mediator of the Republic of Niger, Me Ali Sirfi Maiga, indicated in his speech that the event is to be greeted in the most beautiful way, because it demonstrates the interest of the authorities in the delivery of the service. public everywhere and for all.

He subsequently confided that it is the association of mediators of the member countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (AMP-UEMOA) of which the mediator of the Republic of Niger belongs, which suggested to the member countries not having a platform during a sub-regional workshop for exchanges on computerized complaints management systems organized from 04 to 08 November 2019, to ensure its implementation. And according to him, through this, AMP-UEMOA aims to make the mediator’s service accessible to citizens on the one hand, and to increase the efficiency of the administration of the mediator in the treatment of complaints received from citizens of somewhere else.

For Me. Ali Sirfi Maiga, the work undertaken marks the consecration of the fight for the accessibility of citizens to the services of the Mediator of the Republic, but also a break with a medieval system which handicapped an institution of such magnitude, which has now its own platform to match its rank, its ambitions and the missions with which it is invested. “This platform is an essential tool that will allow the mediator to be even closer to citizens and users. It is in this sense that the user can be physically in Bilma or Téra and have direct access to the mediator’s services to exercise their complaints in real time, ”explained the Mediator of the French Republic. Also he added, with the platform, the young girl of Téra victim of social stereotypes, the discredited woman of Bilma, the abused citizen of Mirriah, the citizen deprived of his rights of Bouza can directly access the mediator of the Republic.

For his part, the representative of the governor of Niamey, Mr. Hamida Abdou, welcomed this initiative which fills a void by setting up a computer system for processing and monitoring citizens’ complaints with a view to the digitalization of the process, one of the major objectives of which is to create or strengthen spaces for constructive engagement between citizens, civil society and the State.

The representative of USAID-SHIGA, Ms. Asta M. Zinbo in her intervention appreciated the important role played by the mediator of the Republic. According to her, he plays an important role of interface between citizens, users, public services and administration because, she underlined, he receives complaints concerning the functioning of administrations, the State, the authorities. local, and public establishments.
