Every Wednesday, the Rookies Journal honors the most prominent novices. The best offensive beginner, his defensive alter ego, the action, the confirmation, the revelation of the week… And, finally, the Power Rooking.
Everything, you will know everything about the Rookies!
Offensive Rookie of the Week
Ja’Marr Chase – WR / Cincinatti Bengals (5e choix)
5 réceptions, 101 yards, 1 touchdown
Mocked a few days ago for his statements on the NFL ball, Ja’Marr Chase quickly silenced the skeptics. After 100 yards, a long-distance touchdown, a victory, the evening was a success for the former LSU player. His connection with Burrow hasn’t aged a bit.

Defensive Rookie of the Week
Kwity Paye – DE / Indianapolis Colts (21st pick)
3 tackles including one for loss, 1 covered fumble
Seen as a project that would take time to perform, Kwity Paye is starting his career well. Already performing in the preseason, the pass rusher made a tackle for loss and especially recovered a fumble.
Action of the week
Paulson Adebo – CB / New Orleans Saints (76e choix)
3 tackles, 1 interception, 1 defended pass
In the red zone, the Packers were by far the best team in the league in 2020. At the start of the second period, the Packers can return to possession and restart the game. Instead, Paulson Adebo intercepts and goes back 33 yards. The former Stanford cornerback annihilated the only series where Green Bay had shown itself in leg and dangerous.
Clutch red zone INT for the #Saints defense!

Confirmation of the week
Devonta Smith – WR / Philadelphia Eagles (10e choix)
6 réceptions, 71 yards, 1 touchdown
Heisman Trophy in 2020, Devonta Smith did not disappoint on her professional debut. Already decisive, the former Alabama receiver has already established himself as the number one target for his former Crimson Tide teammate Jalen Hurts. A magnificent corner reception (where he offered the title of national champion to Bama in 2018) for the first touchdown of a promising career.

Revelation of the week
Elijah Mitchell – RB/ San Francisco 49ers
19 courses, 104 yards, 1 touchdown
Raheem Mostert affected (again!) Prematurely, it does not matter, Kyle Shanahan knows how to make his runners shine. 19 carried for 5.5 yards on average, a magnificent run of 38 yards ended in the goal, resisting the passage to a tackle, the 6th round rookie Elijah Mitchell was signaled. With the 100-yard bar crossed in his first NFL game, he is already positioned as the new find of his coach.
