The manufacturer’s first pickup, called the R1T, was built at Mitsubishi’s plant in Normal, Illinois, the company’s CEO said on Twitter. It will be shipped to all US states.
Customers can only buy vehicles online because there are still no showrooms available to test the car. The price of the R1T is $ 73,000.
Although the popularity of electric cars continues to grow, electric pickups have so far been just plans and promises from manufacturers and especially from Tesla.
The company of billionaire Musk expects to complete its first Cybertruck pickup by the end of this year, although mass production will not begin until 2022.

For Rivian, it is a significant success to be the first on the market with its electric pickup, according to AutoTrader editor-in-chief Brian Moody.
“Electric pickups are respected at the moment. They will have the advantage on the market, but over time to be considered the best will be more important,” he added.
