One of the factors that makes Messi less influential on PSG’s game is the contribution of other Les Parisiens players.
In a video circulating on social media, Messi is seen not getting help from his teammates while holding the ball.
In the video, Messi, who is building an attack for PSG, is escorted by Club Brugge players. However, the other three PSG players: Ander Herrera, Julian Draxler and Marquinhos lacked space and got too close to Messi.
Messi can only protect the ball from the efforts of Club Brugge players who want to snatch. La Pulga was also seen several times changing positions in order to be able to flow the ball elsewhere.
Nuno Mendes who is on the left side who is preparing to attack also seems reluctant to move forward to open up space. Messi, who had no other choice, finally gave the ball to Marquinhos who was on the right side. That simple pass is something that Messi rarely does in the game.
In that match PSG took the lead through Ander Herrera’s goal in the 15th minute thanks to Kylian Mbappe’s assist. But Club Brugge was able to score a reply through Hans Vanaken in the 27th minute after utilizing Eduard Sobol’s assist.
