This is very sad news which reached our editorial staff on Wednesday. Pastor Jean-Louis Poujol died Tuesday morning, his daughter Irene confirmed.
Jean-Louis Poujol remains one of the most famous men in the city of Nîmes. He had been the organizer for nearly two decades of the biggest solidarity Christmas in France at the arenas, then at the Costières stadium, allowing hundreds of single people to meet on New Year’s Eve. He was also at the origin of the Maison des parents, a structure which accommodates families whose children are hospitalized in Nîmes.
A man of listening, with an eternal smile on his lips, he gave joy to those around him. Pastor Poujol, 73, was very seriously injured in a road accident at the end of 2019, then hospitalized for nearly 15 months in a specialized unit. He was able to return to his home last April. We do not yet know the date of the funeral.
Objectif Gard offers its most sincere condolences to his loved ones and his family.
