DIJON: New projects financed by the participatory budgets of the neighborhood commissions

Solidarity refrigerators, sports equipment and a basketball board will be inaugurated in September and October in several districts of Dijon.

Within the framework of the participatory democracy system established by the city of Dijon, the members of the nine commissions have their own budget. This territorialized city budget envelope allows them to get involved in the life of their neighborhood by intervening in public planning and by supporting projects aimed at improving daily life.

Below is the list of projects carried out within the framework of participatory budgets and whose inaugurations, to which the press is invited, will take place in September and October 2021:

Solidarity refrigerators to fight against food waste, insecurity and create social links

The members of the neighborhood commissions wished to support the national initiative of the association Les Frigos solidaires by financing the installation of self-service refrigerators, outdoors and accessible to all. This device allows everyone to drop off or take food free of charge. The objective: fight against food waste and come to the aid, and more than ever in this context of social crisis linked to Covid-19, to the most vulnerable people.

Under the 2019 participatory budgets, three solidarity fridges, worth € 1,300 each, were set up by the Grésilles, Maladière-Drapeau-Clemenceau and Fontaine d’Ouche-Faubourg Raines-Larrey-Motte district committees. Giron, in collaboration with the Coursive Boutaric, the Au gramme près grocery store and the Maison-Phare, hosts who welcome the equipment.

These developments will be inaugurated in the presence of Christophe AVENA, deputy mayor in charge of participatory democracy, civil security and the safeguard plan, Dounia MEBTOUL, president of the association Les Frigos solidaires and Véronique MICARD, responsible for associative partnerships within Mutual Identities, partner of the Les Frigos solidaires association and player in the social and solidarity economy, the:

Sports equipment and a double basketball backboard on the Verriers ground

The members of the Chevreul-Parc neighborhood commission wanted to provide the Verriers land with various sports facilities. This project was selected under the participatory budgets for the year 2019 and the sum of € 22,019 was allocated to it. Multi-exercise station, elliptical walker, oscillating foot, teqball and double basketball board make up this fitness area set up in consultation with the technical services and the sports department of the city of Dijon.

This relaxation area completes the development of the Verriers land initiated under the 2017 participatory budgets. Thus, in the part located at the entrance of rue des Rotondes to the entrance of rue des Verriers, an alley sandblasted had been created, a pétanque court and wooden benches installed as well as a picnic table equipped with a resin play plate.

The inauguration of this new achievement will take place in the presence of Océane CHARRET-GODARD, municipal councilor in charge of the social and solidarity economy, employment and the Chevreul-Parc district, and Christophe AVENA, deputy mayor responsible for participatory democracy, civil security and the safeguard plan, the:
