WALL – The group stage of the 2021-22 season in the UEFA Champions League started tonight.
In the Group F match, Swiss team Young Boys defeated England representative Manchester United 2-1 on the field.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored the visitors’ goal in the 13th minute, Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu in the 66th minute and Jordan Siebatcheu in the 90+5th minute scored the Young Boys’ goals. Manchester’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka was dismissed with a direct red card in the 35th minute.
On the other hand, Ronaldo broke many records in the Champions League. Making his 177th game in the Champions League group stage, Ronaldo equaled the record of Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who played the most in the tournament.
The Portuguese star, who scored against 36 different teams in the tournament, also caught the Argentinean Lionel Messi in this field.
Having aired the nets for 17 consecutive seasons in the “Giants League”, Ronaldo left behind the 16-season record he shared with Karim Benzema and Messi.
