Daniel and Davy Macias spent 18 months strictly following all measures against the coronavirus, but this did not help them escape the virus.
Davey Macias, a midwife in Southern California, was seven months pregnant with her fifth child in early August when she was hospitalized with Covid-19. Her husband is also infected with the virus.
Doctors managed to help the 37-year-old woman give birth to her baby by caesarean section while she was intubated. Shortly afterwards, she died and was unable to meet her newborn.
Daniel Macias, 38, is being treated at the same hospital when he learns of his daughter’s birth. He is too weak to meet his newborn child and therefore sees him only in a photo. A few days later, the man died.
Both were not vaccinated and died on August 26 and September 9, respectively, leaving behind children aged 3 weeks to 8 years, informs CNN.
Daniel’s mother had to inform her grandchildren about the death of their parents.
They realized that their parents were gone. It’s hard for them. They still can’t realize that they will never see them again, “said the grandmother.
