At home in Ostrava, they defeated them 3: 0 in sets, especially the final third, which they won 34:32.
The Czechs advanced to the quarterfinals after four years, in which they also defeated the French in Katowice.
On Wednesday, they will meet Slovenians, who also managed 3: 1 with the Croats in Ostrava for sets.
The other quarter-final pairs are the Netherlands – Serbia, Poland – Russia (both matches on Tuesday in Gdansk) and Italy – Germany (on Wednesday in Ostrava).
