The seventh session of RIGaLIVE, as usual, will take place over three days, this time from 13 to 15 September. On the first day, the participants will get acquainted, as well as several lectures and master classes with domestic music industry professionals – musician and composer Edgars Šubrovskis, as well as “Latvian representative of Warner Music Baltics” and music management consultants Inese Saulāju-Dobeli. On the first day, an informative and educational master class with experts of the Latvian Association of Performers and Producers (LaIPA) Agati Silova and Liena Grīna was also organized for the participants. On the second and third day of the camp, the participants are divided into teams so that each has a songwriter, performer and producer. In this composition, the teams will work throughout the day, creating a new composition and in the evening presenting it not only to other participants, but also to experts in the music industry, who will evaluate the potential, format and current relevance of the created single. What is interesting is that every day teams are re-created, thus providing an opportunity for different people to work together and gain new experiences. One of RIGaLIVE’s goals is to create compositions that can appeal to the average listener and have the potential to reach the radio and music stages.
Musician Būū (real name Ilze Fārte), who has recently turned her solo career and has already entered the radio rotations with her songs, says about her experience with RIGaLIVE: “My biggest benefits were, first of all, to test in practice how the time limit helps to tangible result also in creative work. I continue to use a similar approach in my daily work. Secondly, contacts and thirdly, satisfaction with the success of the written song. ”
“Covid is also a guest of its own changes in the camp. This is the second session in which only local musicians and producers participate. It is gratifying that, despite this situation, foreigners are also showing interest and asking when musicians from other countries may have the next opportunity to participate again. It is also a great pleasure to receive more and more applications for RIGaLIVE. Not only the young contestants are applying, but also artists who have already proved their name in domestic music and who, in my opinion, show the wide range and significance of the camp. I am also glad that the participants re-apply for the next camps, which is almost a compliment, because you can feel that he liked it here, ”says Agnese Cimuška-Rekke, the organizer of RIGaLIVE.
Several of the songs from the previous “RIGaLIVE” sessions have been included in the regular radio rotation, as well as entered the competition for songwriters and performers “Supernova”. So far, many artists already known in Latvia have participated in the camps, such as Don, Aija Andrejeva, Aminata, Markus Riva, Samanta Tīna, Jānis Aišpurs, Samanta Berezina, Kārlis Būmeisters and others.
