Gran Turismo 7 requires internet connection for singleplayer campaign • Eurogamer.pt

Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital and the creator of Gran Turismo, confirmed that an internet connection will be required to access singleplayer content in Gran Turimo 7.

Through PlayStation Blog, Yamauchi signed a message in which they celebrate the new trailer, the unveiling of the March 4, 2022 launch, and introduce you to the modes or features that are available to you when GT 7 arrives on PS5 and PS4.

However, the message is full of asterisks which in the end explain its meaning, “these features require an internet connection”.

This means that modes or features like Scapes, GT Café, Livery Editor, Campaign Mode and GT Auto where you tweak the car’s performance to your liking are all accompanied by asterisks, signaling the need for an online connection.

It may be related to recording progress on servers and logging virtual currency, but even in a world where it’s rare for a console not to be connected to the internet, it’s still strange to see some of these modes requiring internet connection.
