Platinum’s witch lives and thrives in silence.

In December 2017, Nintendo released a teaser about a third in sequel Bayonettaseries. Since then, however, it has been quiet and there is of course a concern whether the game is closed or not. There are three months left of 2021 and VGC asked Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba if they will possibly show something before Christmas. The answer was a bit cryptic, but they assure us that the game thrives and feels good:
“If you remember last time, I said that even though everyone was asking about Bayonetta 3, maybe you should tell everyone to forget about it for a while. I kind of need to keep to that stance for now because ultimately, it’s not our decision what to say and when to say it.”
–
Atsushi Inaba adds:
“There’s no need to worry. Don’t worry about it at this time. Everything’s OK.”
–
Kamiya goes on to say that they really want to show the game, but that in the end it is not up to them.
“As much as everyone is clamouring to see it, we are really, really waiting to release it too,”
“Everyone who is working on the project is of course very proud of what we’re doing and wants everyone to see what we’re doing.”
“As much as fans are waiting for it, we are waiting for the day when we can show it. We want everyone to cheer us on as we run to the final stretch. We want to show it too!”

Platinum has high ambitions Bayonetta 3 and there have been rumors that they had trouble getting the game to flow as well as they wanted. It is a technical aspect that should also have led to the delays. But it may well be that Nintendo is waiting for the right time to show the game, we know from tradition that they like to keep the cards close to the rock body.
