Óquie Barcelos won the 2021 edition of the Elite Cup of roller hockey, by beating FC Porto (6-3). It is the first time that the Minho team wins this pre-season trophy.
In Tomar, Alvarinho (2′ and 48′), Joca Guimarães (22′), Danilo Rampulla (26′) and Darío Giménez (35′ and 47′) sealed Barcelona’s triumph. Reinaldo Garcia (18′) and Di Benedetto (46′ and 50′) scored the goals of honor for the blue and white team.
Juventude de Viana beat Oliveirense (2-2, 5-4 gp) and closed the podium.
Note also for the derby between Sporting and Benfica, which decided the fifth place. The lions won 5-3, with goals from Ferran Font (12′ and 15′), Gonçalo Nunes (19′), João Souto (33′) and Gonzalo Romero (49′). Lucas Ordóñez (28′), Manrubia (42′) and Gonçalo Pinto (46′) scored for the eagles.
A heated duel that ended with four blue cards (two for each side) and the sending off of the two goalkeepers, Ângelo Girão and Pedro Henriques, both in the 28th minute.
