United Kingdom: – Gigafunn on yacht

Six people were arrested on the coast of Plymouth, after the authorities seized 1,500 kilos of cocaine worth 1.4 billion kroner, according to Sky News.

The men were arrested on a yacht 129 kilometers from land, after a joint operation between British and Australian authorities.

Suspect of drug trafficking

– There is no doubt that the drugs would have been transported to different parts of the country, and sold on to local communities across the UK. It would cause more crime and misery, The National Crime Agency (NCA) Deputy Director Matt Hornes said in a statement, according to Sky News.

The men arrested are between 24 and 49 years old, and are suspected of drug trafficking, according to a statement from the NCA.

– Organized criminal environments are motivated by money. The lack of drugs that have been seized will destroy the plans and the ability to operate for the organized criminal environments, says Horne.

In the statement, Horne also believes that the arrest of the men, who were transporting the large quantities of drugs, means that they have lost reliability among criminal circles.

Continues the collaboration

“We continue to work with parties such as the Boarder Force and foreign police units, such as the Australian Federal Police, to protect the public from the drug threat,” Hornes said in the statement.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has also taken part in the operation against the criminal environment.

– This result should be a strong warning to criminals. “We will continue to be ruthless in our pursuit of illegal activities, bringing the culprits to justice,” said Australian Police Commissioner Lesa Gala, according to Sky News.

– The operation has opened the door to an unparalleled collaboration between the judiciary worldwide, Gale says according to The Guardian.

Gale says that AFP and the NCA have a strong and historical relationship, and that both agencies recognize the significant threat to national security, which organized crime poses.
