AS Monaco messed up the dress rehearsal for the Europa League home game against Sturm Graz. The team from the Principality, overseen by Niko Kovac, lost 2-0 (0-1) to Olympique Marseille on Saturday at home and has only four points after five games.
This means that Kevin Volland, Wissam Ben Yedder and Co. are only 14th in Ligue 1 for the time being. The goal difference is 3: 7. The Graz team will play their first game in the EL group in Monaco on Thursday, and their dress rehearsal will be against Austria Klagenfurt on Sunday.
Paris SG consolidates table leadership with a runaway victory
Even without the spared Lionel Messi and Neymar, Paris Saint-Germain consolidated the championship lead. The capital club cleared Clermont Foot 4-0 (2-0) on Saturday.
PSG thus achieved their fifth win in their fifth game of the season. Messi watched the match relaxed from the stands, having last played with Argentina in World Cup qualifiers and rose to become South America’s top scorer.
The goals for the hosts were scored by Ander Herrera (20th, 31st), Kylian Mbappe (55th), who was badly hit and strong, and Idrissa Gueye (65th). In the final phase, the Parisians were able to save energy for the opening game in the Champions League in Bruges on Wednesday.
