Nintendo has been criticized in the past for not giving the Metroid series stood out enough compared to other franchises, but it seems that things will be different this time.

Before the launch of Metroid Dread Next month, Nintendo will roll out the red carpet for its intergalactic bounty hunter. In addition to all the trailers, reports, and social media posts it has posted so far, the company has also gone to the extreme of launching giant Switch ads at Tokyo train stations:

While it may not sound like much, keep in mind that we are talking about Metroid here. See Samus instead of Super Mario, Link or Animal crossing it’s a big deal, and it’s great to see Nintendo giving the conclusion of the original Metroid saga the attention it deserves.

It looks like the new entry for Switch is already on its way to becoming arguably the best-selling Metroid game to date, with the title surpassing Amazon and other pre-order lists within days of its announcement. And with Metroid Prime 4 Still on its way, Samus’ resurgence is likely only to get bigger and better.

Do you think Nintendo has done enough for Metroid Dread before its release? Will you be picking up Dread when it hits the Switch on October 8? Show your support in the comments below.
