Jakarta –
Anyone wondering what it’s like to take a flying taxi? You can try flying taxis or EHang 216 passenger drones, which are estimated to cost under IDR 1 million for a half hour trip.
Prestige Image Motorcars, the company that brought this vehicle to Indonesia, said the fee would be converted into a component of the rental rate to consumers. They plan to lease EHang as a new mode of transportation for one area.
President Director of Prestige, Rudy Salim said the rental rate is the cost of charging the battery, considering the EHang 216 is a pure electric vehicle, and also for one-way component replacement.
The EHang battery is known to have the capacity to cover a distance of 35-65 km with a maximum payload of 220 kg and a flight time of 21-40 minutes. While the maximum speed is 130 km per hour.
“Yes, electricity is Rp. 100 thousand, but there are components that must be replaced. It’s the same as an airplane every few hundred hours or thousands of hours being replaced. Now, if you beat it flat, maybe every half hour it won’t reach 1 million, and it will be converted into tariffs,” he said. Rudy was recently quoted from CNNIndonesia.com, Saturday (11/9/2021).
In addition to being rented for one trip, Rudy explained that his party also has another concept, namely an annual rental as a member. This charter system already includes pilots controlling the EHang 216 from the ground. The annual rental concept is targeted at entrepreneurs, public figures, to the needs of government agencies.
“So it’s an annual membership, and all the pilots are there,” he explained.
