Nicaragua received this Saturday, September 11, 199,200 more doses of vaccines against covid-19 donated by the Government of Spain, reported the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
This new delivery, which was given through the WHO / PAHO Covax mechanism, corresponds to the third batch donated by the Spanish government. The first and second donations were given on August 6 and September 3, with 97,920 and 333,700 doses of AstraZeneca, respectively.

These three donations from Spain total 630,820 doses of AstraZeneca, and “a fourth installment is expected soon,” reported the Government of Spain through a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
«These deliveries place Spain as the leading donor of vaccines to the Central American country. They demonstrate, once again, Spain’s commitment to the health and well-being of the Nicaraguan people. And they follow strictly epidemiological criteria endorsed by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), as is the case with donations to other countries in the region ”, dictates the letter from the Spanish government.
Nicaragua reaches one million doses
With this new batch, the country has received during the vaccination process one million 94,600 doses of vaccines, the majority donated by governments, not including the aacquisition carried out by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) on July 16, but that the Daniel Ortega regime did not reveal the amount.
The designated vice president of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, reported this September 10 that “in the next few days” the country will receive one and a half million vaccines against covid-19 to ensure the vaccination to the group of people older than 30 years.
