TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Alzheimer’s dementia in fact can occur under the age of 65 years.
Alzheimer’s dementia itself is defined as a physical decline in the brain that affects emotions, memory and decision making and commonly referred to senile.
Not only the elderly, in fact according to Michael Dirk Roelof Maitimoe, Executive Director of Alzheimer’s Indonesia as well as a psychologist, senile This is likely to occur under the age of 65 years.
“Dementia generally occurs at 65 years and over, but it is possible for those under that age to be affected, it’s called young onset dementia,” Michael said during a virtual event, Saturday (11/9/2021).

In practice, Michael has found several sufferers dementia who has been exposed at the age of 50 with pre-existing symptoms.
“So far, what we have found in their 50s is that someone has been exposed dementia,” tutur Michael.
“But for those of us who are young, there are symptoms of impaired concentration, this memory needs to be checked first,” he continued.

But before determining whether a person is suffering dementia must be confirmed first to ensure the truth.
Because according to him the symptoms of dementia this will cause a person to forget to do the usual activities often done.
“What memory does this affect our daily activities? Do you forget how to wash and cook or you appear because you are tired because of a series of stimuli that we face with heavy work every day,” he concluded.
