On October 8, at 7 pm, the well-known Dutch trombonist, composer and arranger Ilja Reijngouds will take the stage together with the Ventspils Big Band in the concert hall “Latvija”, the concert organizers informed.
The concert program will consist of Ilja Reijngouda’s original compositions and original arrangements. Both the artist himself and the young and talented vocalist Paula Saija will take part in their performance together with the Ventspils Big Band.
Ilya Reijngoud was born in 1972 in Leiden, the Netherlands. He studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory, then in the USA, where he obtained a master’s degree. Currently, in addition to teaching at the Rotterdam and Amsterdam Conservatories, Reijngonds not only leads the big bands of both conservatories, but is also a member of several popular jazz ensembles in the Netherlands. As a composer and arranger he has won several prestigious music awards – “Edison Jazz Award”, “Latin Grammy”, etc.
Paul Saiy is educated in the genre of contemporary rhythmic music, as well as in the stylistics of American pop music. He has collaborated with well-known musicians and musicians’ associations in Latvia – “Very Cool People”, Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, Latvian Radio Big Band, Samantas Tīna, Ralph Eiland and others.
The measure is intended only for vaccinated or Covid-19 infected people (also applies to children and adolescents of all ages). Upon arrival at the concert, the visitor must present an interoperable Covid-19 certificate, an identity document and a personalized entrance ticket.
