There is no question of compensation and the term of the sentence, the relatives of the victims need to know who is guilty, the Attorney General clarified.

The work of the investigation team and the court in the Netherlands in the case of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 shot down in the sky over Donbas in 2014 is aimed at identifying those responsible and sentencing, as the relatives of the deceased passengers seek. This was stated by the Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova on the air of a talk show Savik Schuster’s freedom of speech Friday, September 10th.

So, when asked by the host about whether there is a chance to establish all the circumstances of the tragedy, the Attorney General assured that “there is not just a chance, this is a goal.”

“I AM watched the court yesterday directly. Not that chance, this is our joint goal. What are the victims’ relatives talking about? “We need to know who is to blame.” There is no question of compensation, there is no question of the term of the sentence – this is important for fairness and justice. But all of them, all of us need to know the answer – who is guilty, “she stressed.

Venediktova said that she met with the relatives of the victims, and noted that “for them it is not just trouble and pain, for them it is life without life.”

At the same time, the Prosecutor General recalled that the investigation into the MH17 case continues, despite the difficulties, and named two areas of investigation: “First, who was the crew who directly pressed the buttons. And the second, who gave orders to cross cars, who gave other orders “.

Finally, Venediktova urged not to politicize this topic and wait for the court verdicts.

“Let’s all be on the same side and wait for the verdicts … We see that the trial is proceeding properly, objectively, impartially, and for Ukraine this is the“ gold standard ”of justice,” she said.

As reported one of the witnesses in the case died the crash of a Boeing 777 on flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. He passed on the case as G9O81.
