In the film, Damon plays the role of knight Jean de Carrouges. He challenges his squire Jacques Le Gris to a duel after his wife Marguerite de Carrouges accused him of rape. The role of Le Gris is played by Adam Driver, the wife of De Carrouges by Comer.
