Seven Dutch people were able to leave Afghanistan today with a Qatari flight. The foreign ministry says the departure was a “complicated operation” led by Qatar.
The evacuees are now on their way to Doha, the capital of Qatar. If they are tested negative for the coronavirus, they will fly on to the Netherlands. According to the ministry, Dutch diplomats are ready for a “listening ear”. All seven have a Dutch passport, the ministry emphasizes.
Qatar’s Efforts
Yesterday a group of thirteen Dutch people left Afghanistan with destination Qatar. Minister Kaag of Foreign Affairs said the evacuation was mainly due to the efforts of the Qatari government.
