Those not vaccinated against Covid-19 will be able to come to Latvia from five European countries without self-isolation The news

Riga, Sept. 10, LETA. Without self-isolation against Covid-19, unvaccinated residents will be able to come to Latvia only from five European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

Non-vaccinated residents will not have to observe self-isolation when arriving in Latvia from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and the Vatican.

According to the data of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population in Latvia is 182.1, but a week ago it was 115.2. The average incidence rate in the EEA and EU countries is currently 187.26.

In Estonia, the indicator has increased and reached 366.8 last week (334.4 a week earlier). In turn, the Lithuanian indicator has increased from 288.4 to 321.5.

Outside the EU and the EEA, non-vaccinated people will have to adhere to self-isolation after returning from Britain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Canada, Jordan and Qatar. The “green” countries currently include Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Uruguay, Singapore, Ukraine, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, as well as the Macao SAR and the Hong Kong SAR.

When entering Latvia from a country where the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population exceeds 75, it is mandatory to observe 10-day self-isolation. The self-isolation time may be reduced if the test is repeated on the seventh day and is negative. The test result must be recorded in the test certificate. Self-isolation may be waived by persons with an interoperable vaccination or disease certificate.

Children under the age of 12 (until 1 September 2021 – also other minors) traveling with adults who are exempt from the requirement of self-isolation may disregard self-isolation. However, in such cases, children do not make close contacts with persons outside their household for 10 days after leaving the high-risk country, do not attend public events, children’s groups, do not use public transport.
