Samsung revealed last week photochip ISOCELL HP1 with a high resolution of 200 megapixels, its deployment in smartphones is expected next year; first of all, a chipset must appear that can process such a large amount of image material. Samsung will probably use this chip in its upcoming flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra model, but the competition will probably not be left behind.
Xiaomi is also preparing a 200Mpx photo car
When speculation about a 200Mpx sensor first appeared, the Xiaomi brand was most often inflected in this context. These speculations are now fueled by the informant Digital Chat Station, according to which the Xiaomi phone with a 200Mpx camera is really preparing, there is even a good chance that it will take the lead. After all, a smartphone Xiaomi Mi 11 was introduced at the end of last year, so it is possible that we will see its successor this year, while we are not counting on new Samsungs until next spring.
According to Digital Chat Station the upcoming smartphone from Xiaomi will have a total of two main sensors, the second will have a “ground” resolution of 50 megapixels. We do not yet know whether the planned telephone will switch between them or combine information from both. In any case, we anticipate that the heart of the phone will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 chipset (or as it will be called), which will have its premiere at the end of this year.
