Criminal investigators detained a man they were looking for in connection with the brutal murder of a young woman near Protivín in Písek. They announced it on Friday, with more details coming out next week. The victim’s body was found near a lighted BMW at the weekend.
“Criminals have detained a 27-year-old man suspected of a violent crime. His victim is a young woman found by police at Protivín near a burning BMW vehicle. Criminal proceedings are now under way. spokesman Jiří Matzner.
Police have been searching for the man since Saturday. Just that day between noon and seven o’clock in the evening is likely the perpetrator moved black BMW in the South Bohemian region. Specifically on the route České Budějovice, Bernartice, Bechyně, Písek, Protivín (we wrote here).

After nineteen o’clock, the man had to set fire to a car in the forest near Protivín in Písek and then flee the place. A young woman’s corpse was found near a charred car. From the beginning, the police suspected that there might be a connection between the cases. They later confirmed this information. They also turned to the public for help in the search. In addition to testifying, they also asked for on-board camera recordings. “It is important to document the movement of the subsequently ignited car,” the spokesman tried to clarify.
