Garut Police Chief AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono revealed the motive husband kills his wife in Selaawi District, Garut, West Java. The police said that the perpetrator’s sadistic act against his wife allegedly started from an economic dispute.
“The main motive, according to witness statements, is the economic factor, because in recent times there have been economic difficulties which eventually led to a quarrel between the two of them,” said Wirdhanto to reporters in Garut, as reported by Antara, Friday (10/9/2021). .
He said the perpetrator with the initials AN (28) committed acts of domestic violence (KDRT) against his wife MM (25) until he finally died. The victim had multiple stab wounds to his body.
Wirdhanto said the perpetrator hit the victim’s head and then stabbed a pair of scissors into the victim’s body at his house in Cibingbin Village, Selaawi District, Wednesday (8/9), afternoon.
“Finally, the victim died instantly due to loss of blood,” he said.
The perpetrator’s action was known by local residents because they heard the screams of the perpetrator’s child and the victim was frightened by the heinous act. The perpetrator who panicked tried to end his life by injuring his neck, but failed because it was prevented and was taken to the hospital.
“The perpetrator is being treated because the perpetrator attempted to commit suicide and is currently being treated at the Sartika Asih Hospital in Bandung,” he said.
He conveyed that the police had not investigated the perpetrator further regarding his cruel act, because the condition of the perpetrator was still undergoing medical treatment. Perpetrators are threatened with being charged with multiple articles related to premeditated murder, as well as domestic violence with a penalty of more than 12 years in prison.
