On the territory of Louisiana (USA) in the Poverty Point area, archaeologists have discovered further evidence of the existence of an advanced civilization of 1700 BC. In particular, an embankment with a height of more than 20 meters, the creation of which took enormous efforts.
About it writes Southeastern Archaeology.
Previously, it was believed that the main occupations of people who lived in what is now North America 1,700 BC were hunting and gathering. However, recent studies have shown that their civilization was quite advanced. So, for the construction, not only huge human resources were needed, but also the precise work of the engineers who guided the process.
To create a 20-meter embankment, it was necessary to move and collect millions of cubic meters of soil in one place. Even today it requires a lot of labor and resources, and almost 3 thousand years ago, the scale of the work was simply incredible.
At the same time, radiocarbon dating, magnetic measurements and microscopic analysis of the soil showed that the mounds were erected at a very fast pace. Sandy layers of structures are resistant to natural factors, as evidenced by the absence of signs of weathering.
As reported by “Apostrophe”, during excavations in the Volgograd region (Russian Federation) as part of the work on the reconstruction of the gas pipeline, archaeologists discovered in ancient burial mounds finds that presumably belong to the Sarmatian culture.
