There are five more days until the Munich Motor Show opens its doors. The car event replaces the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Munich Motor Show is the place where we will have the opportunity to see the premiere of one of the most awaited cars. This is the Mercedes-AMG ONE. Among the happy owners of this hypercar are very few people. In the short list, along with Lewis Hamilton or the American actor Mark Whalberg, there is also the famous Ion Țiriac.
Mercedes-AMG ONE is the star of the Munich Motor Show
The launch of the new Mercedes-AMG ONE is getting closer and closer and its debut will take place at the Munich Motor Show. The German manufacturer has announced that only 275 units will leave the assembly line.
The starting price is 2.75 million euros. Its mechanics combine a 1.6-liter V6 petrol engine with 680 hp. The car will have four more electric motors, two in front and two in the back, for a total power of 1,006 hp.
Mercedes-Benz has tried to keep the names of the future owners of the new Mercedes-AMG ONE anonymous. However, while waiting for the first hypercar of the German brand, the owners themselves reveal their name.
Among them is real estate mogul Manny Khoshbin. The billionaire admitted that he bought a Mercedes-AMG ONE. The car will enter the wide range of supercars it already owns. These include a McLaren Speedtail, a McLaren P1, a Bugatti Chiron or a Pagani Huayra.
Ion Țiriac on the short list of new owners
For the amount of 2.75 million euros, we can say that the new Mercedes-AMG ONE is part of the category of the most expensive hypercars. Yet, Ion Țiriac is among the first to decide to pay this amount to buy one of the 275 cars that will leave the German manufacturer’s lane.
It is recognized that Ion Țiriac has one of the largest and most important collections of rare cars in Eastern Europe, and their value amounts to several tens of millions of euros. The list, in which we also find Ion Țiriac, also contains the names of some important personalities of the world, including former Formula 1 drivers.
Among the future owners of Mercedes-AMG ONE, there are also former Formula 1 drivers, such as David Coulthard. The former pilot recently stated that he tested it in the development phase and assured him that it made him feel like a driver on a circuit again. Also, Nico Rosberg, the former F1 champion in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas team, will have a car in his garage.
There are doubts about the current F1 star, Lewis Hamilton, whether or not he will buy the car. The truth is that, although the seven-time world champion has been involved in the development of the hypercar, he has never confirmed that he is one of the 275 owners. Movie stars such as actor Mark Whalberg are also on the list, according to the Spanish publication Autobild.
