The Secretary of Tourism of the state of Guanajuato supports the municipalities in the realization of these gastronomic festivals that give identity.
San Francisco del Rincón, Guanajuato, on September 7, 2021. For 45 years, the traditional pambazos have been made in San Francisco del Rincón, Guanajuato and, for 3 years, the municipality has celebrated it with a festival to delight visitors. This year, more than 36 thousand pambazos were sold.
In this 3rd. This edition, held last Sunday, 20 traditional cooks made pambazos, a Franco-rinconense treat that, traditionally, is stuffed with potatoes with chorizo, white cheese and covered in a rich guajillo chili sauce. Currently, the filling has been changing and adapting to different tastes of people trying different stews.
The origin of pambazo refers to a smooth bread very similar to telera, which is made from a dough made with flour, water, sugar, butter and yeast.
The Secretariat of Tourism of the state of Guanajuato supports the municipalities in the realization of these gastronomic festivals that give identity and promote and guarantee the continuity of the culinary heritage, without neglecting compliance with sanitary measures and controlled capacity.
The 3rd. Pambazo Festival, held in the Main Garden and Plaza Márquez, also convened 27 exhibitors of other foods, 35 artisans, 16 producers of mezcal, tequila and other beverages, as well as artists from San Francisco del Rincón, León, Dolores Hidalgo, Irapuato , San Felipe, Acámbaro; and to Jalisco and Yucatán, as special guests.
This event reactivated the economy, achieving an economic benefit of 2 million 250 thousand pesos for the benefit of local commerce.
