Gijón hopes to save the Trade Fair despite the restrictions | BE Gijón | Today for Today Morning Gijón

The City Council of Gijón trusts that the new restrictions on the COVID-19 do not take away summer dates like the International Trade Fair, although from the local government team they remember that the priority continues to be “the health of citizens.”

The restrictions that the Ministry of Health will take to the Governing Council this Thursday and that, if endorsed by the Superior Court of Justice of Asturias, would directly affect the first days of the FIDMA, especially regarding restriction of gauges it means.

The Gijón Chamber of Commerce awaits news about the new limitations although it has been working for weeks in a scenario of maximum security at the fairgrounds, even below the maximums allowed by the regulations.

The spokeswoman for the Gijón government team, Marina Pineda, recalled this Tuesday that “the most important thing at this time is contain the pandemic. Of course, we are concerned that summer events, such as the Trade Fair and the rest of the scheduled activities, will continue, but what concerns us most is the health of citizens. “
