Khromchenko pointed to the dress, the cut of which visually corrects the full figure

The outfit with an optical illusion was also appreciated by Evelina’s co-host, fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev.

To the main podium of the country in the show “Fashionable verdict” 43-year-old Valentina came to Channel One. But not on her own: her own daughter accused her of lack of style. The heroine of the program, having a corpulent figure of the “apple” type, wears tight-fitting clothes, which is why she does not even look like an “empress” as she would like.

The stylists of the program have selected several sets of the heroine. Among them was a sheath dress, which was unanimously approved by both Evelina Khromchenko and Alexander Vasiliev. They explained their unanimity at once.

“The dress is designed in the tradition of“ optical illusions ”. This fashion came in the era of constructivism, between the two wars, in the 20s and 30s.

Here, the geometric shapes, set in the form of two triangles, resembling an hourglass, make that very optical illusion, “- said Vasiliev, hinting at the visually slimming property of the dress.

Fashion historian colleague, fashion expert Evelina Khromchenko, explained what exactly happens when a corpulent fashionista puts on such a dress.

“If we take into account the cut of the dress, then it allows a lot in principle. First, it makes you slimmer immediately without any additional effort. Secondly, it visually draws you out, and thirdly, it gives you the opportunity to use variation in shoes, ”Khromchenko commented on the dress.
