I have no problem keeping a stony face, says Ventolin. He shot the novelty in nature even in front of the greenscreen – ČT24 – Czech Television

Lockdown took the opportunity to give him a concert, but gave him more time to prepare a new record, four years after the previous recording, Welcome.

“I thought a lot about the lyrics. At the same time, the pandemic manifested itself in the fact that we all had more time for each other, we went out a lot, and that helped me a lot mentally and physically. It manifested itself on the board, there are a lot of topics in some way connected with the experience of walking into nature, “points out Ventolin.

Trips associate songs with the names Horizon, Walk, Pothole or Moss. The latter was released by Ventolin at the beginning of the holidays as a catchy summer single. “I originally had a bass melody, I thought, it’s such a bass line, it would be good to play something guitar, I named it a guitar, but there is no guitar there in the end,” describes the origin of Mech.

“I then built a whole around the bass line. I still had a picture in front of my eyes when we went to Ralsko for a trip during the lockdown, we were just there in the woods. The snow was just melting and there was moss at the same time. There I came up with the verse ‘no rush, there is beautiful moss’. “

More song and sound more sophisticated

Ventolin describes his latest album as generally more varied than his previous works. “It’s even more song-like, and the fact that my most natural voice is there so far corresponds to that. On the musical level, it is definitely more varied in terms of rhythms and genres. It’s not just ‘fat’. And the sound is probably more sophisticated, because I had time to research. I bought various nice devices and recorded it with them. There are also more guitars, bass guitars, acoustic drums. And there are also the most long texts and, with two exceptions, they are all in Czech, “he named.

However, some elements remain the same, for example in the second single, which Ventolin released at the end of August, he uses his favorite greenscreen again. In the video Time shift over three minutes, he stares at the camera.

“We shot it in hotels because I play a lot, so I stared at Skype for a few shots and the creators of the video, Prokop Holoubek and Johanna Novotná, shot me. I don’t know if it’s in one go, or finely cut, that it looks like that, but I sat in front of the computer like this for many minutes, “he describes. He said it wasn’t a problem for him to keep his stone face.
