Jakarta –
An audio recording Florentino Perez made fun of some people in Real Madrid had circulated. Legenda Los Blancos, Jorge Valdano, judged that Perez was a victim.
Iker Casillas, Raul Gonzalez, Luis Figo, to Vicente Del Bosque are the names of people who have been in Madrid. They were made fun of by Perez in an audio recording made in 2006.
The footage was leaked and revealed by Spanish media, El Confidencial. On the tape Perez speaks after leaving his post as president of Madrid.
Valdano spoke about the recording and indicated his support for Perez. Valdano, who played for El Real from 1984-1987 and coached the club’s first team from 1994-1996, believes Perez was the victim.
“I heard everything. I always put myself in the victim’s shoes, and in this case, Florentino is the victim of indecency. Any comments made about it are indecent,” Valdano told El Pais.
Perez was also rumored to be the culprit behind Lionel Messi’s departure from Barcelona. The accusation was made by a former important person at Barcelona, Jaume Llopis.
Perez then issued an official statement and denied having incited Barcelona CEO, Ferran Reverter, to let Messi go. Perez confirmed that he had only met Reverter twice and was not familiar.
“There was a feeling that Barcelona didn’t have the money to pay Messi. An illusion was then created, and because everything happened so fast, it looks like he has been expelled,” Valdano revealed.
“In a game where identity is so important, getting rid of a legend like him is not only painful, it’s also inexplicable.”
“He left is also very detrimental to Real Madrid, because the team is also measured in terms of the strength of rivals. To put it simply, Messi is a football genius, but he doesn’t just belong to Barcelona, it’s quite sad,” he said.
