5.8 million hryvnias were already credited to the account. Business gave another 20 million. All work on the restoration of the church is divided into three stages.
The restoration of the Church of St. Nicholas in Kiev, which was damaged as a result of a fire, requires at least 75 million hryvnia. The state will allocate the necessary funds to the amount collected by private companies. About it reported Minister of Culture Alexander Tkachenko.
“Over the weekend, we developed a step-by-step plan for further actions in accordance with the law and in compliance with the safety of work in the building. Now we are waiting for the conclusion of the State Emergency Service. This is the basis for ordering an expert assessment of the scale of material damage,” Tkachenko wrote on Facebook.
He added that the funds that the business, legal entities and philanthropists have transferred and will transfer, will go to eliminate the consequences of the fire inside the church.
The minister also noted that in general, all work is divided into three stages.
During the first stage, urgent emergency measures will be carried out, and it is for them that funds are collected.
The second stage concerns the procurement of an organ.
“We are communicating with the manufacturer regarding the development of the most relevant replacement of the organ. Its restoration will not come from funding, for which charitable contributions are currently being collected. In addition, its location should be separately agreed with the religious community of the RCC,” Tkachenko said.
The restoration work on the facade of the church is the third stage of work.
“There are already funds for this, but the work has not begun because of the delay in tender procedures, and will be restored after the degree of damage to the building is clarified,” the head of the Ministry of Culture emphasized.
He added that the transfer of the church to the RCC community had already been approved by the government last year according to an agreed algorithm.
“The amount of fees, fortunately, changes every hour. As of now, 5 million 840 thousand UAH have entered the account. And about 20 million UAH more businesses have announced to provide donations publicly … Thanks to all who are not indifferent for their help in accelerating the restoration of the building,” – wrote Tkachenko.
