The youngest visitors were delighted by the Laboratorium Science Theater, Snick Dance Studio, the illusionist Edžus, the drum group Drumline Latvia of the Andžeja Grauda Drum School, the musical performance of children’s vocal ensembles “Wolf is such a soul”, as well as carousels and various attractions.
Over the past 20 years, the Alfa Shopping Center has experienced many changes, achievements and various events, has grown, improved and accepted exciting challenges. And in addition to these events, Alfa has over the years given its visitors a number of different surprises. Twenty years birthday was no exception! Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us, ”says Liene Apine, Head of TC Alfa.
TC “Alfa” doors were opened to visitors for the first time in 2001. The center was opened in the premises of the Riga semiconductor factory “Alfa”. With constant expansion, the total area of the center reached 90,000 m² in three years. More than 160 shops and cafes were already available to visitors at that time. In 2008, they were joined by the Cinamon cinema, which seats 1,360 people in 8 halls.
The next large-scale expansion work continued from 2017 to 2019, and on September 5, 2019, the new premises were inaugurated. As part of the expansion project, TC amenities have been improved by installing a spacious and well-equipped family room, the number of parking spaces has been expanded to 1,750 and 177 trees have been planted.
Today TC “Alfa” is the largest shopping center in Latvia with a total area of 154,000 m2 and 210 retail areas.
