However, after being enforced several times, the Philippines has now surrendered.
The Philippines will repeal lockdown in the capital Manila this week.
Even though the daily case Covid-19 in that country, it has actually doubled compared to the beginning of its implementation lockdown.
The economy of the Southeast Asian country is feared to be even worse if it continues to implement lockdown.
Instead, the Philippines will test it out lockdown local government or restrictions on some community activities to revive the economy.
Reportedly, this restriction will be similar to those carried out in Indonesia such as PSBB or PPKM which have been and are being implemented in Indonesia.
The decision to lift the lockdown was conveyed by the spokesman for the Philippine presidency, Harry Roque, on Sunday (5/9/2021).
More than 13 million Manila residents have been in lockdown since August 6, amid record spike in cases Covid-19 triggered by the Delta variant.
Steps to undo lockdown Manila started on Wednesday (8/9/2021), but this is precisely what happened as daily coronavirus cases doubled.
