Lily Ivanova is a living proof that the old love does not rust. Nearly 50 years after the divorce from the man of her life – the composer Ivan Peev, and three years after his death, the star once again made a kind of explanation in love with him. She rewrote one of the songs he created for her 25 years ago and gave it new life.
The primate of the native music this Wednesday he delighted his fans with the news that he is releasing a new album. It is a disc that includes five tracks, most likely recorded in the summer. Behind this seemingly casino news, however, lies something much more spicy, namely – another explanation of Lily’s love for her ex-husband Ivan Peev, whom she obviously can not forget even after his death.
At the age of 82, the star continues to think about the composer, who died in 2018, and among all his huge repertoire, she has chosen his song to record again to try to make it a hit. It is a symbolic song entitled “Life”, which Lily sang for the first time in 1998. In the text of Alexander Petrov is sung about the end of human life: “The wheel of roulette turns, life as a bartender bears the bill.” According to rumors, for years Lily did not think about this song at all.
After Ivan’s death, however, the memory of her surfaced in her mind. She started thinking about the song and especially about its lyrics, and three years later she decided to record it again.

Lily never hid the fact that Ivan Peev, who is her second husband, was her great love, and all the other men who appeared in her life after him were ordinary substitutes. During their marriage, however, he looked down on her, often even allowing himself to humiliate her in public. After such a humiliation during a concert, the primate chases Ivan off the stage. A divorce followed, and later the composer married the extremely popular singer Svetla Stoeva at the time. Nevertheless, he remained friends with Lily until his death, gradually becoming the closest person in her life.
Peev is the first to whom the primate has released his new songs, expecting his honest assessment of them. She also consulted with him about all her career plans. With his death, she lost the only person she trusted completely, Weekend writes.
Three years later, the biggest star on the Bulgarian scene continues to feel a huge gap in his life. And since it is impossible to bring Ivan Peev back, she decided to give new life to at least one of his songs. In order not to sound retro, she recorded it in a new arrangement, work on which she entrusted her favorite guitarist Angel Dyulgerov. In recent years, the young man has invariably been at the forefront of all her projects. He is part of the band with which Lily is touring, and writes a huge part of her new songs.
