Graphic images circulating on social media show the location where the victim was killed, depicting her body lying covered in blood on the carpet.
The images have not been independently verified for authenticity.
The Taliban group denied involvement in any of its comments to BBC.
“We are aware of the incident, and I confirm that the Taliban did not kill him, our investigation is ongoing,” spokesman Zabiullah Mujaheed told BBC.
After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan on August 15, they launched a charm attack to rehabilitate their image.
The group promised amnesty to ousted government officials and soldiers and vowed to protect women’s rights.
Local activists and journalists, however, say the reality on the ground is very different, with many reports of house searches and arrests of people, whom the Taliban say would not be targets for their retaliation.
