Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Taliban reportedly detained four planes carrying hundreds of people for evacuation out of Afghanistan. As a result, the plane could not leave the country as soon as possible.
Four planes were at the international airport of the city of Mazar-e-Sharif. It said the passengers were Afghans, who had worked for companies allied with the US or German military during the NATO troops’ presence in the country.
The Taliban argued that the detentions were carried out because many residents did not have passports or visas. So you can’t leave the country.

This caused a strong reaction from a number of politicians in the US. Because, among the passengers, there are also Americans.
Members of the US House’s Foreign Affairs Committee said the Taliban’s attitude of not letting them take off was a hostage. He said the Taliban might demand legitimacy or funding from their government.
“The Taliban won’t let them leave the airport,” Republican Michael McCaul of Texas told Fox News Sunday.
The small airport in Mazar-e-Sharif recently started handling international flights. However, the new main destination to Turkey.
The planes that were detained were originally reported to be headed for Doha, Qatar. It is not clear who rented it.
