Mandatory testing for unvaccinated people in Turkey comes into force today

Today, September 6, new quarantine rules come into force in Turkey. Now vaccinated citizens and tourists will be able to visit public places only with a negative PCR test.

Citizens are asked to take into account that a negative PCR test for coronavirus must be done not earlier than 48 hours in advance.

From now on, restrictions in Turkey will apply:

  • at social events (concerts);
  • in public places (exhibitions, cinemas, theaters);
  • during intercity travel by public transport (planes, buses, trains, etc.).

It is indicated that the employees of the above structures will check with each visitor upon entering the “HES code”, which is the COVID tracking system.

It will help determine whether a person has been vaccinated against coronavirus or has recently been ill, as well as establish the presence of a negative PCR test done no later than in the last 48 hours.
