The community of the Faculty of Law of the UNAM regretted the death.
Luis Octavio Porte Petit was born in Córdoba in 1938. He graduated in law (UNAM 1957-61), where he was a professor (1965-70). Agent of the Public Ministry (1962-63).
Deputy Director General of Investigations of the Federal District Attorney’s Office (1963-64).
Private secretary to the president of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI, 1965). General Director of Preliminary Inquiries of the PJDF (1970-73).
Deputy Manager and General Manager of the Compañía Operadora de Tetros (1973-74). Secretary of the Government of Veracruz (1974-77).
General Secretary of Control of Real Estate and Federal Zones of the Secretariat of Human Settlements (1977-79). Federal deputy (1979-82).
Representative of the Chamber of Deputies before the Federal Electoral Commission (CFE, 1981). President of the Federal Board of Conciliation and Arbitration (1982).
General coordinator of the National Campaign against Drug Trafficking (1982-85).
Legal Deputy Attorney of the Attorney General’s Office (1986).
Regional Deputy Attorney for the South (-1992). Magistrate of the Superior Agrarian Court (1992). Member of: The Bar Association; Mexican Academy of Public Finance; Mexican Federation of Lawyers.
VERACRUZAN POLITICIANS REGRET THE DECEPTION
The former federal deputy and former candidate for Governor of the PRI, Héctor Yunes Landa, commented: “Luis Octavio Porte Petit Moreno, an exceptional Veracruz native, passed away today. He was godfather of our generation of UV lawyers. Together with him I participated in my first political campaign. Educated man and honest official ”.
